Microsoft's Help system has landed you in the wrong newsgroup: this
one is for the database program Microsoft Access.

Please use the dropdown box (the one that says "Access" by default)
to select a more appropriate newsgroup, such as
microsoft.public.excel.general.

Try "fill down" though...

[Hi John - not sure that there is a group microsoft.public.excel.general
(not listed on my msnews server anyway)]

Hi

other alternatives are
microsoft.public.excel
or
microsoft.public.excel.newusers.

however, to answer the question - type the number 1 in A5 and the number 2
in A6, select both, now move the cursor to the bottom right hand cornerof A6
and you should see a +, hold your mouse down and drag to A36.
