I'm setting up a gmail account, Ive done everything it doesnt work

What do I do now, I've looked over evrything. It doesn't work. I looked over
gmail pop3 help, it still doesn't work. I've filled out everything. I can't
recieve, if I send it doesnt show up in the inbox I sent it to. Everytime I
try to do something it says theres an error, hat do I do?

Have you ensured that POP is enabled in Gmail?

Which antivirus are you using?
 
Go to gmail's web site. You can download the troubleshooting utility there.
It checks your settings and tells you which are incorrect. I had difficulty
setting my account configuration too. Changed the incoming and outgoing
ports, used ssl authentification, unchecked SPA, had proper server addresses,
etc. Was also going nuts trying to figure it out. Turned out everywhere I
was supposed to be entering my id you had to enter (e-mail address removed), not just
your id. If you can't find the utility email me at (e-mail address removed) and I'll
send you a link. Now watch the spam I get for posting an email address.
Fortunately, gmail is not my default email application.
