i'm about to SCREAM! Someone PLEASE help me!! I've looked
at a lot of this newsgroup, followed links, looked at
google, looked everywhere, but can't find an answer!

My dad gave me his old computer, on which he installed
windows 2000 professional. I had it for awhile, used his
password to log on, all was fine. I got a new computer
and wanted to donate it to my niece. I added her name so
she could log on with her own name, not my dads and now I
am completely locked out. A lot of these "fixes" talk
about going into menus, "start" and various other files.
I CAN'T! The computer starts and takes me directly to
the "Log onto Windows screen", I have no other options.
The passwords don't work and I am completely locked out.
I can hit F1 while the computer starts and get the "Main
Menu" with selective settings, and can hit F8 to get
the "windows 2000 advanced options menu" and that's it.

How can I get in my computer?! It's been locked up for
WEEKS! I downloaded and burned disks and cd's to "reset
paswords" but I can't get my computer to a place where I
can open them.

Please help! You'll be my best friend for life! Thanks!

1. Insert Windows 2000 Professionla CD
2. Reboot
3. Press any key to boot from CD
4. Select make sure you have your CD Lic#
5. FDISK & FORMAT
6. Configure new settings
7. Get WindowsUpdates
8. Install Anvitirus software
9. Install Firewall software
10. Install all your software and play with it...

WOW...seriously, you would probably need a couple of things:
1. Did you ever did an ERD? Use it to recover your password from another PC
using LC4
2. Maybe boot using a LINUX boot up disk to get to your _SAM file

Good luck.. :-)
