I rebuilt an video editing maching that was donated to me. Back when
they upgraded the system, they put in two 80 gig harddrives on a
Fasttrack TX 100 card. So when I got everything up and running with a
new ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe / AMD Athalon 2800+ / 512 mbRAM but of course
i'm having difficulties with the Fasttrack. The Fasttrack bios loads
fine it seems and recognizes the drives, then the MOBO loads it's own
raid bios (Silicon SATA i think) and doesn't find drives... then I see
the IRQ list... then nothing. I'm not understanding why the OS(XP)
doesn't want to load. So I disconnected the ribbons from the drives
and rebooted. After Fasttrack and SATA bioses loaded the OS loaded
this time with the Fasttrack card still in, just disconnected from
drives. So I was able to load newest Fasttrack drivers, but when i
rebooted with the drives connected I wind up with the same prob. I'm
almost positive there is some sort of conflict with the ASUS own raid
bios and the Fasttrack bios but don't know enough about bios to fix.
Can anyone shed some light on this or point me to some good info.
Thanks, Jason.
