I'm MSDN Universal: Where is Win XPe?

I don't see it under Developer Tools or under Platforms?

What am I missing?

Thanks,
John

Eval version is the *only* version available for download. For the full
version you need to contact a distributor.

The difference is any runtimes generated from the Eval kit will have their
license expire in 3 months. Other than that you have the same functionality
as the full version and you have full access to the same components in the
full version. Any components you create can be used in the full product
later on.

Not a bad deal for free, right? <grin>

Considering I paid over $2000 for MSDN Universal, I'm a ticked off
that I'm going to have to re-install every 3 months in order to do my
development.

MSDN should include Win XPe.

The *runtimes* expire in 3 months, not the tools, although the tools are
eval as well. It's unlikely you're going to be doing dev work on the same
*runtime* deployed to the same device with zero modifications for 3 months.
The tools will *not* expire, but then again the eval tools will not be able
to create runtimes that don't expire either.

John,
I believe Andy was referring to the runtime expiring in 3 months not the
tools license. What this means is that if you 'deploy' an embedded device
using these (ie evaluation) bits, the device will stop running after 3
months not that you need to reinstall the tools every 3 months.
