just a note - it's GANTT not gant and i agree with Frank, if you do a google
search you'll uncover lots of excel gantt chart templates.

It depends whether you are actually looking for a project plan or project schedule? If you only need to replicate a schedule in excel, that's fairly easy - just insert a column down the left for your tasks and row headings at the top for your time periods. You can use the Autofilter function to build / sort categories.
If you need an actual Project Plan (i.e. word document) try this Project Plan template.
