First off, I know very little about computers. I have been using a bottom of
the line Dell for several years. Last night a brought home a Compac SRNX. I
do lots of video stuff, so the first thing I dug into was WMM. All my footage
comes from a helmet cam, seen here

http://www.samsung.com/Products/Camcorder/DigitalMemory/SC_X105LXAA.asp?page=Specifications

I always used a VERY low end film editor with my Dell. WMM says I don't have
the required codec on my computer when I try to open any of my video. I
downloaded the divX stuff from their sire with no luck....

Please help. There is some tech info in regard to the camera on the above
link. Thanks.

Thanks John. I failed to mention, that after installing the DivX codec, the
videos will now play fine on window's media player, but I still get the "the
required codec is not on your machine" message when I try to bring them up in
WMM.

I'm pretty lost........

I just noticed, I was able to turn on the "download codecs automatically"
feature on WMM. Shouldn't this take care of it?

John, I ran a clip of my video through the Gspot program and got this...

Render OK; the following combintation of filters was used:
(Src)-->>--(A)-->[AVI Splitter ]>--(B)-->[SEDG Video Decoder
]>--(C)-->[Video Renderer ]
(Src)-->>--(A)-->[AVI Splitter ]>--(B)-->[ACM Wrapper ]>--(C)-->[Default
DirectSound Devise ]

Can anyone translate? Is there info in there that can help me? Thanks SO much.
