Windows 7 I'm Having Problems

My laptop was recentley updated onto Windows 7. It's been going fine until last night when I tried signing onto MSN messenger, the laptop suddenly froze and windows wouldn't work. I can only get onto other programmes like the internet which I mainly use anyway, also on the internet occurs the problem where I cannot watch any videos. Whenever I sign onto MSN the laptop freezes so I have to do a forced shut down. Which could damage my laptop. Can anybody help me?

Does your laptop meet the minimum specifications for Win 7?

If not, it may be struggling, hence the problems.

had the same problem it was a bad download of messenger uninstall it and try again

Uninstall and re-install the program, but do it in safe mode. Make sure that you run a full scan of your computer with malwarebytes while in safe mode and reboot before you re-install the program (MSN Messenger)
