When I go to the file menu, the "publish" option isn't in bold (I can't click
on it). Is there some sort of initial set-up I'm missing. I'm new to
frontpage... thanks

You have to create a web/site first.
Open FP
File | New follow on to create a website...not a single loose page.

You need to open the site first - File > Open > Site. If you don't do this
initial step, then alot of FP's functions will be greyed out such as the
Publish Site function.

FP works with "sites" which is the collection of files as a whole - html
files, script files, images, documents, sound/video files etc. The
collective term for all these files is known as a "site" in FP 2003 and in
Expression Web. The term "Web" was used in Fp2002 and earlier, but it was
the same thing.
