im getting kicked off the internet

everytime my friend gets onto the internet a box comes up
and says it is shutting her down in ----- seconds, i have
to type this for her because she cant get on for more
than a minute, what should she do????

Disconnect her computer from the Internet. Then turn on Windows built in firewall. See Help and Support for "Firewall".

The visit Windows Update and apply all outstanding Critical Updates for Windows XP.

in order to do anything to do with the internet you must

be logged on as an administrator.
 
Sounds as though you have got the blaster virus. Can't beleive noone has suggested it already. Does anyone actually answer these forums. Might need to download anti blaster virus software from another computer and then transfer. Ntl website should have it on.
 
It is the Sasser virus. Normally it gives you a few minutes to at least
start an Internet session before the box appears. Go to the Microsoft web
site and get the patch.
