hello,

I've just bought used p2b-d and started to read all I can about this
motherboard, but I'm confused about the various opinions, unprecise
specs etc.

I can read that this motherboard: a) is revision *1.05*, b) its PCBA is
*C01*, c) its circut responsible for voltage is *ICS9150AF-08*

Please, make it clear for me:
1) what PIII can be put in this motherboard *without* any modification?
2) what PIII can be put in this motherboard *with* modification?
2a) what kind of modification is needed?
3) I've read about ACPI bug and have found many links to asus site that
gives the solution:

http://www.asus.com.tw/Products/Techref/Acpi/win2000.html

but this page isn't working now. does anybody know where I can read
about this solution?

I would also like to hear from people who have similar motherboard and
made its modification with success. I would greatly appreciate any
suggestions, opinions and valuable links.

cheers,
n.

Any Klamath with FSB 100 MHz. You'll have to take a look at the voltage
regulator (PWM) chips used to determine whether at least one slot can
take a Coppermine.
2) what PIII can be put in this motherboard *with* modification?

Should at least one PWM chip not be one of the variant that goes down to
1.30 V (like the older HIP6019ACB, which delivers 1.80 V min), this can
be exchanged for a part that is (like a HIP6019BCB). This kind of
operation seems possible for someone with good SMD soldering skills.

Exchanging the clock generator and soldering in a 4th FSB jumper is more
tricky (I don't know whether 1.05 actually provides a 4th FS jumper
position), this would give FSB133 abilities.

You have to move R80 to R79.
