Are you saying you activated after the first time.

Did you erase/format and install, (the best).

Sometimes when im stressed I have to put the product 2 or 3 times cause I
typo. If it took it once, it should take it again. But I would still format
and install, less problems.

But if it was an Upgrade a fresh install may not work. Sounds like somehow
they have a prob. w/the reg. key. Would that be something to address w/MS?

Hi,

You don't actually have to have Millennium installed to install from an
XP Upgrade CD. Provided you have a valid Windows Millennium or Windows
98 CD - that's a full retail version of ME or 98, not some Restore
CD(s), not an upgrade.
After you have saved all your data to removable media or to another
partition other than C: (or both - the belt and braces method), format
C: and run the install from the XP CD. When you are asked for a
qualifying operating system, simply pop in your ME or 98 CD and the
install will continue after it is recognized as valid and you remove it
and replace the Windows XP CD.

After several conversions, I've never had any success with installing
XP on top of an existing Millennium. It tends to keep all the junk and
problems in place.

Luck!
