Illegal Operation

All too often I am getting the message that an illegal
operation has occured when I am exiting IE. The details
say the module is unknown and goes on to list the
registries and I believe stack dumps. What could be the
problem? Should I uninstall and reinstall IE 6.0? How do I
go about that?
