Bought a used Mobo.Evga SLI 133-K8-NF41-AX. Now,I have a decent 512 stick of
Buffalotech PC3200(CAS 2.5). Works fine in my Nforce 3 754 board. Now,I
wanted to get another one for my new board. Found one with the same #'s
specs and bought it. This was a few weeks ago.Anyway, today I'm looking at
both sticks. One is one sided the other is two sided.
How the hell can they have the same serial # and be different?I guess that
lets out Dual channel?

They havent got the same serial #, or model # either.

Normal DDR PC3200 512MB memory sticks are built with (16) 32Mx8
chips. The 32Mx8 is measured in bits and that is 256 megabit
technology. Dividing bits by 8 gives bytes, so the normal
stick uses (16) 32megabyte chips.

If you find only 8 chips on the module, the construction can
be (8) 64Mx8. That would also yield 512MB total memory, but
the module would be single sided. Usually such modules are
pretty obscure, since it costs more to make them. Maybe the
price of the chips has come down a bit, but it seems pretty
strange to be finding one of them.

This Newegg advert has a picture of a module, but it only has
a "B" on the end of the model number. It looks like "512/B"
to me.

You can see the various DD4002 part numbers in the table here,
and it lists whether there are 1 or 2 banks on the module.
It looks like the letter "S", as in "S512", is intended to
identify single sided modules. (The entries with 4 banks shown,
might be dual channel kits, but that would be a stupid way to
show it. The "K" for kit hints that there are two sticks being
used. It would have made more sense to add a column that
indicates the number of sticks, so the bank field can apply to
just one stick.)
