Hi,

I've just bought myself a Canon i9100. Following the advice from
various sources, I also bought some Ilford Smooth Gloss Paper. At the
time, I thought that Ilford supplied ICC profiles for my printer/paper
combination - I was wrong. I made the adjustments that they recommend
(Yellow -15 etc.) and the results where stunning, but not really
colour matched.

Does anyone have a profile for this combination that they could give
me? I've searched the web, but to no avail...

Regards,

Tim

There are places that will custom make a profile for you. I think I've seen
them for as little as $25USD each. I just don't remember where I've seen it.

Do like I did and play with settings until you get what you want. If you
like what you are seeing it must be close, so try a little tweaking until
you get there. Before you get too involved make sure your monitor is
calibrated or you will never be color matched.

What an amazing co-incidence. I've just done exactly the same thing
myself today, same printer, same paper, same settings. Printer
arrived today and I picked up some Ilford when I went out to get some
Canon A3. Yes, the results are stunning, and the colour match is near
enough for me at this early stage. I even tried some dirt cheap
generic gloss paper that I've had for ages and that too was good. I do
have a problem though with a faint but very noticeable band around a
tenth of an inch wide and about half an inch from the trailing edge of
the print. Very noticeable on a couple of pics with blue sky, and very
faint on dark backgrounds. Not quite sure what to do about it yet. I
might ask again here later.
