Hope someone can help.

I recently installed ISS on my WindowsXP Pro system. It seemed to
install ok. I can not see any specific reference to installing the snap-in.

The snap-in was not installed. There is no reference to 'Internet
Information Services' option in Control Panel, Administrative Tools.

Then I ran, "%windir%\system32\inetsrv\iss.msc" from the run command.

A dialog box appeared, Titled, "Microsoft Management Console" advising
that, "Snap-in failed to initialise". Upon clicking OK, Microsoft
Magementment Window opens. Right panel advising something similiar
to 'Snap not created...."

Any suggestions please.

Hi Steven,

Go to Start/Run and type in: mmc /a. Go to File and choose Add/Remove
Snap-in. Click Add then scroll down to Internet Information Services, Add.

Path to executible: C:\WINDOWS\System32\inetsrv\inetinfo.exe

IIS Service Admin located here in the registry: Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\IISADMIN

To add a Service: Go to Start/Run/CMD and type in: sc create <service
name>. Reboot. Example: sc create termservice
