IIS problems?

Susan

I have FP 2003, Windows XP Pro, and IIS (or used to)
I cannot publish to the http://localhost without a userid and password box
appearing. It did not used to be like this. I can open my website by
navigating through the Inetpub but I thought that was not recommended. So I
believe that I have my IIS screwed up. But now if Microsoft is not allowing
the download of IIS to install, I guess I am up the creek without a paddle.
So FP 2003 is no good on Windows XP Pro as far as publishing?

Any suggestions?

Have you installed IE7?
If so, (and this may work anyway)
In Internet Explorer
Tools->Internet Options
Security Tag
Click "Local Intranet"
Click "Custom Level"
Scroll down to the bottom to the User Authorisation section
Select "Automatic Logon with current User Name and password"
Click OK, Click Yes

You may need to add Localhost to the Intranet zone - if so click the
Sites button and Advanced link.

Click OK

I tried this but I still obtain the dialog box with userid and password. I
can close the dialog box and then obtain the message that I do not have
permission to change and I obtain a read copy. Of course I cannot save any
changes then.

So it is my security settings that are messing me up? After all I can
navigate to the sites through the Inetpub route.
