How do I config IIS for Frontpage and why in the heck would it not do this
automatically when I install FP???

Geesh!!!!!

See the reply to your original post.

The FP extensions come on the Windows CD, not the FP CD.

Yep. Installed them from the windows cd.

When I run FP and attempt to make a one page website @
http://localhost/mypage ...after I click the mouse it just comes back to
this "location" in the wizard and does not ove forward.

I'm using FP 2003.

Thanks for your help.

Ok, you must open the IIS MMC and configure the FPSE for the default web site.

Thanks for yur help.

I decided to remove the extensions and reinstall whihc I did. Still no
success. I attempt to open http://localhost and get an error that says that
IE cann display the web page.

I right-click on the default Web Site and I get an error that says "You need
to install the Frontpage client software to open a web with zfrontpage."
I'm not sure what that is.

When I installed FP I thought I installed everything...a complete install.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Did you actually apply the extensions to the default web site after
installing them?

You can not open a site in FP by right clicking in the IIS MMC. (This hadn't worked since FP97 under
NT Server)

Not sure. What do I do to apply them?

The default website is running. I right-click it and check the server
extensions. It asks about toghtening security and I click NO and then it
completes.....so I'm thinkting they are installed.

Should I be able to browse http://localhost?

Thanks.

Let it tighten security, this actually reset (or corrects) the FP default configuration/permissions.

OK, I did that and then attempted http://localhost/iishelp and I received a
HTTP 404 Not Found error.

Geesh I wish this was a simple thing.

Shouldn't just be able to install IIS from the windows components, istall
FP, install server extensions and then it should be ready to go?

Is there a KB article on making this happen on an XP Pro system?

Thanks for your help.

Forget about iishelp, can you open http://localhost or http://machinename via FP File Menu | Open
Site?

Do you have IE7 installed.

You may also want to post this to the Windows or IIS newsgroup as well.
