Dear all,

When the option "Allow IIS to control password" (in Allow
anonymous connection) is checked what does it really do?

I disable that check mark, I was then expected to enter
passowrd myself but it is not allow me to connect at all

In addition I have noticed that you can combined anonymous
user and integrated windows authentication option, what is
the use of having both?

Could you explain that way of authentication

regards
thanks
serge

For an explanation of the "Allow IIS to control password" feature, see the
following article:

216828 Password Synchronization/Allow IIS to Control Password May Cause
Problems
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=216828

This feature is disabled by default in IIS6.

Allowing both Integrated and Anonymous access is an easy way to configure
authentication for a site with both public and private content. It would be
more correct to enable only the needed authentication type based on the
resource, but that could become tedious with large amounts of site content.
