Howdy-
I host my own very simple personal web page. After installing Vista, I
managed to figure out how to find, download, and install IIS- this time
version 7. I setup my IIS to the best of my ability, changing 3 variables: I
bound the page to IP 192.168.1.100, where the web page is stored. Secondly, I
directed the server to Drive I:/GradyGroup-again where the web page is
stored. And third, I made sure that index.htm was in the default document
list.

When selecting the View Sites tab I get the following report: "Default web
site is started with binding 192.168.1.100:80 (HTTP) with I:/GradyGroup."

This looks correct to me- but the web page is not found when attempting to
acces it from the INternet.

Ideas?

I had the same problem. It turned out that the built in firewall in
Vista is a little stronger than XP's. Go to the Control Panel, then
Firewall. I added an exception by port 80 on the Firewall at this point.
Close out of everything and it should now be broadcasting to the internet.

Thanks, Luke- that solved the problem. I assumed, silly me, that when I
installed IIS that Port 80 would become unblocked!
