We have an issue with IIS5.0 relating to server redirects. We have a web site configured on a server with dozens of virtual directories pointing to UNC's underneath it. Currently the web site loads a default page that uses a meta redirect to send clients to an application page. This redirect page was put in place to combat Code Red when we were on IIS4.0. Now we would like to get rid of the meta redirect and go to an http redirect for the top level of the site only
The problem is that when we make the change to the site to use the http redirect, all of the virtual directories underneath the site also change from a UNC to the same redirect. The virtual directories change even though we cancel the child node selection box or click OK with no child nodes selected
This is not desired, as we have many virtual directories that need to be accessed directly by using a path like www.domain.com/virtual directory. Is it possible to maintain the virtual directory UNC configurations and change the top level site to an http redirect? This worked in IIS4.0
Thanks for any help you can provide.
