ignore posts in newgroups

In outlook express, in the newsgroups I used to be able to click something
like "block sender" in one of the drop down menus and all the posts from
that sender would dissappear. can't seem to find anything to ignore certain
posters?
I have tried making message rules.. but they donw seem to affect newsgroups

The Block Sender list and Rules do work in newsgroups, and it usually takes
both to hide those posters. But the existing posts won't be removed.
