Please advise: my brother offered me my choice of either one of his two
cards above. Which one is better? Is there going to be a significant
difference in performance between the two?

If you're not gaming, then it won't make any difference. Also, both of
those cards are very good, the PNY card has more memory, but the 9600
has a faster clock.

Whether you see a performance difference will depend on which games you
play, and your current system. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Like I said, both cards are good cards.

I'll go with the Radeon 9600XT, see this comparison:

The difference in performance it's not very high, but take in account that
it's a standard 9600 (the XT will give better results).

The 9600XT is the faster card but theres not a great deal in it. The extra
memory on the 6200 is wasted as you'll never run a game at high enough
settings to use it - because the card is too slow to run any modern game at
very high settings anyway.
