How in the world can one diable IFRAMEs? It is the most offensive,
intrusive, gaudy "feature" of IE6 that people only use for forced
advertising. What's the purpose of popup-blocking software if A) It only
works 75% of the time (I have 3 blockers installed and still get tons of
popups when browing the internet) and B) Webmasters just go around the issue
entirely by using IFRAMEs.

Please tell me how to disable these monstrosities once and for all so I
don't have to deal with this any more... I can't stand even going on the
internet for legit purposes (school purposes, work research, dictionary.com
etc.etc.), much less unlegit purposes... but we won't go into that.

Thanks for your help.

You would probably need to make this setting for the content zone of the
site that opens the IFRAME. For example: if acme.com's page opens an
IFRAME with an ad for unwanted.com, you might need to configure the Web
Content Zone that includes acme.com. Unfortunately I don't think you can
add to four default content zones.

Tools menu

Options

Security tab

Select a content zone

Custom Level button

Under miscellaneous select option (disable/enable/prompt) for "Launching
programs and files in an IFRAME"

See my posting today entitled "Your browser does not support inline
frames or is currently configured not to display inline frames"

I would really like to know a reliable way of turning iframes on and
off.

The setting
Under miscellaneous select option (disable/enable/prompt) for "Launching
programs and files in an IFRAME"

Seems to have no effect. I'm not "launching" a program or file, I'm
simply opening an HTML page.
