If you have a XP that was OEM does your Vista Upgrade which is not OEM
become an OEM ?

Maybe this is why after a driver upgrade through Windows Upgrade I have to
now reactivate Vista.
 
No, Vista is what it is when you install it and enter the product ID key--it
does not inherit any product status from anything previously installed.

A separate issue.
