On one of my friend's computer using XP Pro SP2, if Windows Firewall
is turned ON, after i click his computer in "view workgroup
computers", i can access his computer after 30-45 seconds, if Windows
Firewall is turned OFF, it accesses immedialtely. Is it related to NIC
driver or why?

Note: There's no 3rd party firewalls installed.

Thanks.

I'd look at NetBT, and make sure that it's completely consistent.

Hi Chuck,
NetBT is set to default at TCP/IP properties, no special restriction
has been applied by me. Do you want to say that i should open special
netBIOS ports under Windows Firewall? From the link you've given, i
couldn't make out solid info.
