if value, then bold? any help?

I'm working on a spreadsheet to track mileage in a running club for
kids...and I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to make it so
that if their total mileage (E2:E20), then their names (A1:A20) could
be in bold...there's got to be a simple way, can anyone help?

You can do this with a conditional format applied to the names in column
A, depending on a formula relating to column E.
Unfortunately you don't say what specific condition you are looking for
(although I guess it is mileage > some number), and you don't say what
version of Excel you have, so giving you step by step is harder.

Tell us in more detail what condition should trigger the bold, and what
version you have and we can give you a thorouhg job here.

Thanks Adam,

I have Office 2007, and I suppose i should proofread before submitting
so that I don't leave out any huge tidbits of information. Any how,
what I was trying to do, was if their total mileage E2:E20 is greater
than a value, say 20, than their names in column A would be in bold. l
appreciate your help ~ nate
