hi,

After posting 3 or 4 times about my friends problems with web pages errror
or not going to web pages after 2 or 3 times.
Everyone said it was the qhost, which I checked several times.

I found a place to do an online scan yesterday and found the nachi worm or
virus. When I applied the tool today, the browser worked...

The Beta "Hijack This" tool will remove Qhosts if the Symantec tool fails to do so.
Info and instructions here: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Tool here: (Beta Hijack This) http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/beta/hijackthis.zip

This is assuming that no other viruses or Spyware infections are present.

True, but when everyone seems to be telling you it is qhost, and your trying
to fix it without results, one has to look elsewhere :)

I know there are a lot in the threads that qhost didn't clear the
problem..and thought it is worth a shot to those like myself, qhost didn't
work :)

Reading the article about the welchia.worm makes me thing you may have had
both parasites on your computer.

The only thing though, using the removal tool for qhost, it didn't discover
it, nor could I find the host file in help or any of the other changed
entries for qhost.

Is you problem fixed or are you still unable to reach some sites/Search
engines etc...
What is it?

In the first post on this one, said it was fixed, and was ansewering back
questions in relationship to the person having qhost, which they didn't, but
had the nachia one.

There computer had nachi which was cleaned by the fix, and now works great..
I was passing along to those that didn't find qhost on ther computer and
still had problems
thanks
