I have a older Microsoft trackball that I would like to use., when I
tried to install, I get a message that says, XP cannot work well with
this older trackball software.
So, my question. Is there a way to make Windows XP work with my
older trackball? I think I read/heard somewhere that you can make
Windows XP "look like Windows 98."and make it use older software
applications (my trackball)
I think the article/post said that 'adjustments' could be made so
that 'xp' would think it was windows 98, or something like that,,, but
I have looked for these ""adjustments"" to no avail.
If you could help I would appreciate it very much. If I am in the
wrong newsgroup, could you direct me to the one that can help. Thank
you very much, 73 cl.

You could try

microsoft.public.windowsxp.hardware

When you post there, give them some details like the model no/name of the
trackball.
Have you tried looking in microsofts knowledgebase?

http://support.microsoft.com/search/

Will it not work with a standard mouse driver?

Cheers,

Chris.
