If money was no object, which combination of CPU/Graphics card would you go for?

Amd & Nvidia

I already have that combination but yeah a 7900 ultra wouldn't go amiss...

AMD and nVidia, its a proven combo and one i'lll be going for at some point

Amd / Nvidia

I'm just a home user these days, don't need anything fancy and cost has become important. ;)

If money no object, FX60 and 7800GTX SLI.

AMD/Nvidia due to the fact that AMD make the better gaming processors and Nvidia make a more stable driver for there cards and dont need to update them once a month.

I voted AMD / NVIDIA - the exact opposite of what I actually have ;)

At the time ATI were better, and the Intel CPU I have was cheaper - if money was no object a the moment I'd switch though :D

I would go for AMD/ATI. AMD make better performance processors, while I perfer ATI's Crossfire over SLI only because unlike SLI, Crossfire dont need to rely on profiled drivers for optimzed performance. You get optimized performance automatically with Crossfire for all games/applications - new, old, or lesser known.

That and some of my games had graphic problems with Nvidia cards. Problems that usually results in WinXP freezing up or a stop error.

AMD/Nvidia.

But that could change at any time, especially when AMD AM2 CPU pricing is known.

Always used to love ATI Vid cards until their drivers became reliant on Microsoft's net.framework to work.

That really is so much s**t.

To cut to the quick, ATI cards don't work at all well, particularly with Gaming, within Linux. Nvidia cards do.

So, no contest.

I voted Intel/Nvidia. Part of the money would go towards chipset development and company pocket-lining so SLI on Intel is as good as it is on AMD.

Although if i`m gonna pay companies for better products as well...id give AMD the R+D money to compete with conroe now, instead of in December or next year.

AMD/ATI

simply because i prefer smaller companies, and also crossfire is much better than sli. well, it will be in a year or so when they have all the crappy glitches rolled out of it. i dont want to give intel my money.

Maybe I'm naive and correct me if I'm wrong, but do Intel own Nvidia?

As I keep saying  all this ATI/Nvidia rivalry/misplaced loyalty is, imo, a bit daft.

I just go with whoever's giving the best bang for the buck at the time. Right now it's Nvidia. I stuck with ATI when they were leading and it may very well be ATI leading this time next week.

So it goes, so it goes.....

I didn't think they owned them, but they are pretty much bed-buddies at the moment.

Interestingly, intel is partering with ati for its conroe (core 2 duo) launch, so there will be many crossfire-core 2 duo systems running very soon.

nvidia doesnt want to give intel it's sli architecture, so intel told it to sod off and hopped into bed with ati

funny old world isnt it?

"If money were no object" - hmm that sounds good lol :D

I had a look on OcUK, on their PC Builder, and it come to about 5 grand, that was Intel and Nvidia :(
