If it's not one thing it's another - SQL Mail

I set up SQL 2000 SP3 SQL Mail under one of my MAPI Profiles in Outlook 2003 so that I can send an email from an extended stored procedure in SQL. This works fine ONLY when my Outlook 2003 is open with that profile.

The message is made by SQL and plops in my Inbox. Yes you heard that right. My Inbox. After a few seconds the e-mail message will be sent. But that is really no good. I need the message sent when it is made. Not after I open Outlook 2003 using that profile.

Is there any way I can convince Outlook 2003 to send the message once this message gets inside the Inbox? I am assuming the Inbox exists even though Outlook 2003 has not started. Any ideas?

Is this a clean Outlook 2003 profile or an upgraded one from a previous
Outlook version?

A clean one. Microsoft Office 2003 was the first Microsoft Office version installed here. I'm thinking of removing it and installing XP first then go to Office 2003 but haven't done that yet. Actually I have every version from 97 on up if that makes any difference. Thanks.

Did you configure to use it in cached Exchange mode? If so; disable it. I
haven't tried it my SQL server with Office 2003 installed yet (I don't think
it will happen anytime soon as I trashed my SQL server when I passed my SQL
exam today :-D).
