Drivers (if that's even what you are talking about) are provided by 3rd party
manufacturers. If Vista works fine, try Vista drivers

Also Vista has a lot more built in security then XP did so that manufacturer
supplied drivers that made changes to or tried to operate in the lowest
level of the XP OS no longer work. Tthe manufacturer supplied drivers that
did this must be updated work only with the MS provided interfaces to the
lowest OS level and this process takes time for them to implement.

Not to mention the new WDDM model, the new sound model, and countless other
drivers being moved from kernel mode to user mode (forcing a rewrite in some
cases).

If what works?
Drivers? Maybe, maybe not.
A lot depends on how the manufacturer wrote the original drivers and if the
manufacturer has written drivers for Vista.
Programs?
Many do work, some need compatibility mode to work correctly.

Whatever you have that does not work, hopefully you have contacted the
manufacturer since it is up to them to work Vista compatibility issues, that
is if they feed it need to work for their customers on Vista. .
