I'm trying to compare two columns of data, each cell contains one ite
approx 20 chars long. Too long to compare effectively with the eyes
esp with some 4,400 lines to work through!
Each column was queried from a different source, then copied to Excel.
Problem - apparently some sort of format has carried over from th
source that causes the Excel "IF" function to be unable to recogniz
identical data between the two columns.
Here's my formula: =IF(B50=D50," ","ERROR"). Pretty simple.
Unfortunately, in all cases, the result is ERROR, even where the cell
are visually identical.
I have tried to copy and paste special - values, but that doesn't work
I tried copying and saving as .txt and .csv files, then bringing thos
back to Excel, still no luck.
Any suggestions are MOST welcome
