The error message states: The application failed to initialize properly
(0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate application.

Ever since this error message first came up I cannot use anything to do with
Internet Explorer now, including IE. Every time I go to use this browser, I
get the same message as above even after I re-downloaded it, uninstalled,
re-installed it, etc. Can somebody solve this problem?? Thanks in advance

check Internet Explorer has encountered an error" Dated 12/10/05 about two
pages further in, the fix is there. As I had the same problem and the fixed
worked just fine..

Go to Start | Run and type
regedit
and press <Enter>.
In the left column navigate to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RPCKDM]
and highlight it. Right click it and select Export, giving it a name you
can remember. Then right click it again and select Delete.

Frank,

Thanks so much!
This worked perfectly.
Although I didn't export the line, just deleted the bad registery
entry.
I searched the Microsoft site all day through the crummy Real Media
browser and got nowhere.

I wish I had a copy of an export of the key. If we can figure out what's
causing the key to be there then Microsoft might be able to do something
about it.

Had the same problem. This is the exported Key.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RPCKDM]
"data2"=hex:7e,9f,a4,d0,44,0c,0e,0a,79,7e,7a,0f,7e,12,08,7a,08,0a,12,0b,0b,0b,\

Unfortunately, it appears to be machine code and doesn't help track down the
source.

This happened to me while I was surfing. After numerous sfc /scannow,
anti-virus scans, & anti-spyware scans during the past 2 weeks, I was
resigned to using Firefox. The reg deletion fixed it for me, too. Odd
that no tool fixed it.
