iexployer error

while on the web everytime a page is closed i
get "iexplorer. application error" error
states "instructions at 0x017c366c refferenced memory at
0x017c366c. memory could not be read" then i get internet
explorer has encountered an error and must close"
went to microsoft.com found Q318378 which fixes explorer
6.0 on windows xp which i am running. the "fix" would not
come up. help.
