This last week, I have been getting an IEXPLORER.exe Application error
The instruction at 0x62304390 referenced memory at 0x62304390 the memory
could not be "read".
Click ok to terminate program?

Just started getting it, so not sure what is up?
thanks Bruce

Usually keep cookies and temp files cleaned.
This is the problem in the event viewer? No malware,
Norton is always running, but there are no viruses according too.
I generally don't allow any of the other toolbars to run, or install.
Won't disabling any 3rd party extensions stop, quicktime and other ones?

Hi Bruce,
Download this Zip File from the link below and unzip it to a Floppy or a CD
whichever you have installed on your PC and Restart your Computer with it and
let the test run and note the report, although it will not be 100% shoetcut
answer to eliminate the Memory as some dust can cause this Error to Occur:
http://www.memtest.org/

Again check your Event Viewer for any Other Error messages that lead to a
Hardware failure or Applications failure.
Then try to Reposition and Reseat the Memory stick, but be aware not to fry
the Motherboard or the memory Stick by your ESD (Electro Static Discharge)
from your Body, Hold/Put your hand on the case [The metal frame] for 30 Secs
then Hold the Mem from their Ends and push gently to reseat and be sure the
clip clicked as a sign be fitted firmly in the Slot.

Your computer should work on one of those chips, so you can try each alone
in turn, turning the computer off in between.

The two 512 MB chips are right next to each other aren't they?

If I remember correctly without opening, no they are not side by side,
1&3 are 1 gig, 2 & 4 are 512 which is the way they are suppose to be set up.
If I was having memory problems, wouldn't there be other problems, other
than the one with IE?
I will be running the test on memory probably Tuesday.
I forgot also to say, that it is not all the time, it is pretty random when
it happens,
thanks,

I would think so. Your MB is different than mine. <G> That would cause
all sorts of trouble on mine and not just in IE.

Way the board is suppose to be set up in pairs, doesn't matter if 512, 1
gigs, long as the pairs
are in the right slots,
1-3 2-4 Didn't have any problems till a few weeks ago, though mem. could
go bad. Hopefully will run
the mem check tomorrow. and like I say it is in just
IE the problems

Does it matter which version, of the .zip?

HI
I run the memory test, problem it doesn't say whether it will stop itself. I
let it run 4.5 hrs before I stopped it.
It did show errors? Does this mean one or more of the memory sticks are bad?
I switched them and reset them , yesterday, run the test today which showed
the problem. Going to switch the 2 512s, and 1 gigs, if no luck will take
the 1 gigs out, which are the last I bought.
test 3 pass 0 00000100020 1.0MB GOOD 80808080 BAD 80808000 ERRBITS 00000090
COUNT 88, others listed, but doubt need to list them?

Will try something,
have two 1 gigs, will try the 512's, then 1 gig's separately. have to check
the to see if I can do 1 at a time, board suppose to have 2 matched ones.
The 512's came with the machine, the 2, 1 gigs were bought later.

Do you know if that particular test keeps running and running? I didn't know
whether to stop it after the first run through. There were not many
instructions with it.
Just said "When you are done testing simply remove the CD and reset your
computer"
thanks, really appreciate the help and thoughs

Hi Bruce,
Try to test Each memory Model individually and see which one will PASS the
test.
This way you will be able to get accurate reading from the Test.
Take the 1GB Model and test the other two 512 models if they show some
fault
it mean one of them Bad.
Then Test the 1GB and see if it will PASS the Test, by Isolating the Bad
memory you will Eliminate the Fault and hopefuly that's it no more Fault
and
try to log IN and Out and see the Event Viewer for Errors.

Hi Bruce,
Try to test Each memory Model individually and see which one will PASS the
test.
This way you will be able to get accurate reading from the Test.
Take the 1GB Model and test the other two 512 models if they show some
fault
it mean one of them Bad.
Then Test the 1GB and see if it will PASS the Test, by Isolating the Bad
memory you will Eliminate the Fault and hopefuly that's it no more Fault
and
try to log IN and Out and see the Event Viewer for Errors.

hi
Thanks,
OK, read the page on the performance monitor, but am unsure how to set it up
to watch IE 6, I am assuming you need to set "IEXPLORE.EXE" in there somehow
and watch the graph?
Can you tell me how to do this? I was going to email the xp newsgroup, but
since you seem knowledgeable on the subject, thought I waould ask you first?

Reading the rest of the thread again, I don't believe you have a memory
problem. I think you have a malware infection.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=27971
Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

Event viewer says this (forgot to send it I think)
how do I repair/uninstall ie6, maybe I should try ie7, but till now it has
worked great.

Explanation

The program could not load a driver because the program user doesn't
have sufficient privileges to access the driver or because the drive is
missing or corrupt.

User Action

To correct this problem:

a.. Ensure that the program user has sufficient privileges to
access the directory in which the driver is installed.
b.. Reinstall the program to restore the driver to the correct
location.
