Iexplore: failed to get data for 'ac'

Whenever we try to open any program and especially when
we're online we get message: "IEXPLORE: failed to get
data for 'ac' When you click 'X' or 'ok' it pops up
another similar box and on and on in a vicious cycle
until the send error message box pops up. When you send
an error message to microsoft it will go away for a few
minutes and then start all over again. One day we walked
away from computer and came back and had 44 of these
boxes that had popped up. Is most prevalent when online,
however will occur when not connected to internet and are
trying to open a program. AOL can't help us, they
referred us to Microsoft who referred us to Sony.
