I am running Windows XP SP2 with all the latest updates. It’s a clean
install with Norton Anti-Virus and Windows Defender.
When I click on internet explorer icon nothing happens. As the keep
pressing it, still nothing happens. Eventually, I’ll press it and get a
window. Now, if I look in the Task Manger, I am getting an IEXPLORE.exe (not
iexplorer) process for each click but no window. I have tried disabling pop
up blocking with no luck.
Does anyone know why I could be getting an explore.exe process but no window?
It always happens right after a reboot. And it’s off and on through the
course of a day. Usually killing all the iexplore.exe processes helps it out.
It has been much worse the past few days.
I have had this problem on two different laptops (one dell and one Toshiba).
Both had Visual Studios 2005, SQL 2005, BizTalk 2006, Google Tool Bar, and
more. So, it must be something I’m putting on the laptops to cause this.
But, I put all the same software on my desktop at home and I haven’t seen
this problem. Oh, Firefox always starts with no problems.
Thanks.
