Error message: The instruction at "0x01855fbe" referenced memory at
"0x01855fbe". The memory could not be read."

I get this error when closing out IE after viewing a pdf in frame on
website. I'm using extended menu in one frame and document view in another
frame. If you select topic within extended menu, document apears in other
framd. If you close IE then the error pops up.

Try to here: http://www.uamont.edu/board policies/home.htm

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi freemann :-)

Try the following information and see if it helps:

Memory Could Not Be Read Error
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;262490

Memory Could Not Be Read While Doing File Operation
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;267858

It could also be a BHO (Browser Helper Objects) causing the problem.
Download and install a free utility called BHOdaemon to disable any helpers
you do not want.

also check here:
How to Disable Third-Party Tool Bands and Browser Helper Objects

also...

If you have the Google toolbar, try uninstalling it, as it might be
conflicting with IE.

It's also possible that you have a bad memory module. Take all modules out
then replace them one at a time and check for any errors like that. For
instance, if you have 3 modules, remove them, then put one back in, start
your computer and see if you get an error. If not, take that one out and
put the
next one in and repeat the process until you have done them all and see if
you find a bad one. If you do, you find discard it and replace the others
into the computer. See if that resolves the problem.

In addition, try running your machine with one of the sides off and see if
it helps. It could be that you have a chip on the Mother Board that is
overheating, and be sure your case is clean inside to prevent overheating
from dust and dirt. Check the information here on how best to clean your
machine:
Information about cleaning computer components

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the links. I don't think its a bad memory module problem, it
happens on many computers across campus. I did however, find a computer with
adobe reader 6 that does not get the error. Interesting.

Hi freemann :-)

You don't mention which version of Adobe you have, but, some versions have
caused various problems. If you don't have it installed yet, update to the
latest version of Adobe Reader and see if that helps. If not, then as a
test, try this program, it also reads PDF's, just to see if you still have
the problem. You can uninstall it if you wish.

Foxit PDF Reader 1.2 build 0201 (Freeware)

I prefer it instead of Adobe Reader and it works great. Just

Hope this helps.
