Iexplore error message

I receive the follwoing message after opening IE6 and try
to perform any function: A call to an OS function failed.

What might be the cause of this and how can I fix the
problem? The only way to get out of the application is to
ALT-CTL-DEL and END TASK.

I am running Windows 98 - SP2. I also have other browsers
installed, ie. Netscape.

A quick read in this search would indicate a resource issues or some bad RAM

Resources are limited, just stop some programs that are started when you
load windows.
