I constantly get an iexplore error message that reads "System error code 5;
Access denied" and everytime that message comes up my computer freezes. I
notice that it usually happens after the computer has been idle.
Does anyone know what this error means, what causes it and how to fix it?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for your response. The OS is Windows XP, Internet Explorer 6.0 and
other software running is Office Professional - I usually have Outlook open.

What your State of AV and Anti-Spayware, is your System clean and not slow in
general.
Read the Link and if it apply to your issue, be sure your system is clean.

I don't know what you mean by "State of AV" but my system is clean (Norton
status is "Good" and I am not running Indexing Service or ASP.net so I'm not
sure that the instructions on the link apply to me.
My e-mail in Outlook is linked to my Yahoo e-mail account. Could the
problem stem from that application?

Hi Akr,
Sorry for the delay, AV for Anti-Virus software.
Try this Go to IE Properties by Right Click on IE Icon on your Desktop, then
select Properties from the Sub-menu and Click on Connection Tab, Look for
Settings near the Connection Box and Click on it and in the new Window click
on Advanced Below the Properties Button and in the Advanced Window locate the
Square Box which have the Text : Disconnect if Idle for [ 30 ] Minutes
change this to say [90] Minutes and click OK and Close IE Properties Window.
Reboot and hopefully next time your Computer Idle and you are away from it
for longer than an hour and come back you still have the connection ON.
Hope this Helps
