Iexplore error causes all programs to close (Windows 98)

Hi! I have a computer that has been getting iexplore.exe
errors about 10 - 20 times per day. It causes all my
other programs to shut down as well as Explorer. The
error message details are:

iexplore.exe 6.0.2800.1106 name: msvcrt.dll ver:
6.0.8797.0 offset: 0000d07b

I have Windows 98 Second Edition
HP Pavilion AMD Athlon
128 MB RAM (57% free)
Hard drive: 5.73 GB used; 36.1 GB free

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
