Error message reads:

The instruction at "0x00fc3e8d" referenced memory at "0x00fc3e8d".
The memory could not be "read".
This occurs whenever I close Explorer.
My OS is XP Pro SP2

I have very recently installed Office 2003.
I have run their repair tool to no avail.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank You,

John

Hi,
This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)

Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Additional information at:
The Parasite Fight http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm
More security tips at http://www.aumha.org/a/parasite.htm
Bugs, Glitches & Stuffups: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.htm

Or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, security,
anti-virus, etc. Look at any program that might be interacting with IE. You
may have to reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.

Hope this helps,
Don

Don,

Thank You so MUCH for steering me in the right direction.
This had been driving me nuts for the last week.
It was a program running in the background,
Robo Forms from Siber systems. I uninstalled their latest version 6.0.4 and
went back to V. 5.7.6 and my "Application Error" seems to be gone.

Thanks Again for the expertise.
