I'd like to be able to tweak the settings in IE's Security dialog ... the
options for each setting (Disable, Enable or Prompt) are simple enough but I
need to know what each specific setting is and how it will effect me (ex;
what is "active Scripting" and what does it do for IE.)

Can you recommend a source for detailed info about these settings?

Hmm, IE's help (Help->Contents and Index) should have most of this data for
you. If there is a specific question, you can post to this thread and I can
try and answer it for you

My IE Help files provide no info on the settings in the Security dialogs ...
for instance, if you choose to customize the settings for your Internet Zone
the dialog that appears contains a variety of sections each containing one or
more subsections, this is where I get confused. Example: Under the
"Miscellaneous" section a subsection asks how I want to handle "access data
sources across domains" ... which means nothing to me so how can I choose?
The Help available explains the difference between the three choices
(disable, enable or prompt) but offers no explanation of what "access data
sources across domains" means ... that's the info I'm looking for? Where can
I find this?
