Hello Rick:

IE8 is still in beta. If you're not running out of HDD free space, that
might be a premature move. FWIW.

Is "release candidate" ::= 'Beta' ?-)

It seems solid enough to ME!-)

It's still a pre-released version, and there is risk involved in
running it. If you've had no problems with it, great--I'm glad to hear
that--but that certainly doesn't mean that it's risk free. My
recommendation is to avoid all pre-released software, whether beta
versions or any other kind, *unless* you have a spare non-production
machine to run it on, and doing that kind of testing is something that
you particularly enjoy.

In addition, pre-release software tends to expire, and other software is
re-tested against the final release.

Using anything earlier is asking for trouble. If a support person finds
out that you're using pre-release code, the very first step will be to
update to release versions.

My own personal definition of RC believes it's still a beta.

That's the most important thing sir - you.

My warmest regards to you Rick.

Pete

Thank you Pete!

RC = Release Candiate, meaning it could still
contain bugs and is not yet production rated.

But if nobody tried it out - where would we be?!

I propose that testing requires at least 3x the time
for software origination.
