Hi,
I'm using windows XP and whenever I try to launch IE8 the Data Execution
prevention window pops causing the browser to close.
I've removed the DEP but now IE8 wont open. Even when I try "Browse without
add-ons" it still refuses to open.
Any help/guidance much appreciated.

Apologies if this has already been answered.

DEP is designed to help prevent buffer overflow attacks by malware. If
you are receiving warnings from DEP, it usually means your computer is
infected.

A less common reason for receiving DEP warnings is installing software
that conflicts with DEP. This might be caused by third-party browser
add-ons you have installed, since IE 8 by itself has no problem with DEP.

Dear Grey,

With ref to your below comment I have faced the following problem kindly see
whether you can help, we are using Oracle 11i Ebizz applications in our
office, whenever we use IE8 and when it try to use
Javascript:launchform(Http://prodappl...)

Kindly help us how to get rid off this DEP shutting down problem and to work
further. I have tried all the means till adding those in the DEP exception
window for Java files and Internet explorer etc.

Waiting for your kind guidance.

Thanks
RAM

That will "fix your problem" in the same way that turning off your
burglar alarm will stop that annoying siren from blaring.
