IE8 problem.

I keep getting the following message when I try to use IE8 on my desktop:-

"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience."

I have used CCleaner to get rid of cookies, temporary files etc with no joy.
I have also uninstalled IE8 and returned to IE7 and everything worked fine.
I then reinstalled IE8 and and was able to use Internet Explorer until I
rebooted the computer. Back to square one, no internet.. I know that I
should now return to IE7 but would first like to know whether there is a fix
for this problem. I can't find anything specific on the Microsoft site
(using my wife's laptop).

that why I Have IE7
I to uninstalled IE8 and returned to IE7

reinstalled IE8 not me and now I see why!

the problem is Home Network connects..... Unplug Cable Modem and Plug it
in.....
In Internet Explorer Address Bar Put if is http:// ""Comcast.net or
RoadRunner.com or the one you have""
So it can reset your Network

It might be a PITA, but if you can you should try to fix that. IE8's added
security and features are well worth the effort, but more importantly the
symptoms indicate possible file corruption or malware problems.

If it were me I'd scan for viruses and then spyware using at least 3
different spyware detectors. Ask here if you'd like suggestions for good
spyware/malware scanners.

Check Event Viewer for errors. If there are errors in Event Viewer, get
those corrected.

Redownload IE8 from the MS site. Do not use the IE8 that you got with the
auto updates, if that's what you have/had; for some reason it bombs for many
people where downloading it directly avoids those problems.
While you're at the MS site, also grab the instructions and/or
requirements for installing IE8; depending on a few things there might be an
extra task or two for you to do based on that information.

In my case when I encountered the same problem as you have, I simply
redownloaded IE8, removed IE7 which I'd been using for some time, and then
Restarted and installed IE8. All was fine after that.

unplug the modem for a minimum of 60 seconds, plug it back in, and then
restart your computer. If a router is connected to your high-speed Internet

Encountered a problem Come by the WebSute or Webpages that you are View!
get rid of cookies, temporary files etc will not help.......
Add Ram and more free disk space to temporary Internet Files may help but
not always

Encountered a problem can be Cause by Video Chat room websites and Games
websites That need more Memory to run.
When Internet Explorer need to dupes Memory and unable too it needs to
close,,
But that's the same with all Browser !!!!!
If Explorer is not able too dupes Memory by Close Browsers ( Internet
Explorer ) or ( your favorite Browsers ) You will gave that Big Blue Screen
we all love...

No doubt, PITA it is!

Tried this. Have good scanner and AV.

Done this. No events which I could read related to my problem.

Sounds like this could be the answer and I will try downloading rather than
auto update. Presently back on IE7 but would prefer IE8.
