IE8 - Internet Explorer folder in Event Viewer always empty

This is on WinXP desktops running IE8

The "Internet Explorer" folder (aka log) in Event Viewer is always
empty.

I can find posts about this problem for IE7 but NOT for IE8.

There is no Registry entry "Feature_Enable_Compat_Logging" as stated
in posts about IE7.

I also checked Local Policies, Auditing, and there is nothing for
"Internet Explorer"

Fix?

You'd first have to enable Application Compatibility Logging. See

.... essentially you should install the "Application Compatibility
Toolkit" then use it to enable logging.
