does anyone know how to get the start menu and status bar in ie 7 realinged
back to the bottom of my monitor? one small errant click in ie7 and the start
menu with the bottom bar on my monitor docks to the side and any effort to
move it back is useless. i had to reset my computer last time and don't have
time for this. can i go back to ie6 if i want?

To get the status bar back- Click the Tools button> Toolbars> Status Bar.

If you uninstall Internet Explorer 7, it will leave an installation of IE 6.

i guess i didn't mean the status bar. its the bar beside the start menu that
has the open programs displayed on it. somehow it keeps docking to the right,
since i upgraded to ie 7. do you know how to fix this? it won't just drag
back to where it belongs. thanx,kb.

in theory you just GRAB it with the mouse and drag it back.

Right click a blank spot on the taskbar and uncheck "Lock the Taskbar", then
left click a blank sopt on it and drag it to where you want it. Then lock
it again.

Use the Taskbar Properties to unlock the Taskbar and disable Auto-Hide.
(Actually I suspect you already have the Taskbar unlocked which would be
why you have the problem. <w>) Once the lock and Auto-Hide are off
you can Move the Taskbar either with the keyboard or the mouse
and dock it wherever you want. E.g. Ctrl-Esc,Esc,Alt-Space,M,CursorDown etc.

BTW this really has nothing to do with IE7. A better newsgroup for
posting this question in would have been XP General. (cross-post added.)
