Hello!
I am using IE 6 at present and I downloaded IE 7, but am a little shy of
installing it.
If I do install IE 7 on my computer, will I loose all my emails?
Thank you
John

Hi

Which version of IE7 have you downloaded?

You may like to check with the IE News Group:

IE7 is a WEB BROWSER not an EMAIL client. Of course you shouldn't lose any
emails. But, as in all things make backups of critical data anyway, which
you should be doing on a regular basis anyway.

Will,
I downloaded it last night off the MS website, and this is the file name:

IE7RC1-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe

Sorry I really can't tell you what version it is.

Hi John
Not wishing to sound like the voice of doom, but more of caution, IE7 beta 3
is still a beta product and out in the world for testing etc. although it is
better than it was.
If you do not mind using your one and only system as a 'tester' for this
prog. (assuming you do not have a second system for testing) then give it a
go. And that you have a reasonable grounding of computer knowledge.
But read the newsgroups and discussion groups comments and problems first.
The links are below. Then you can make an informed decision rather than
rely on any recommendations that you may get. I will not put any betaware
on my computer - did it once and never again.
So do your own research below and Google for reviews and articles.
Hope you make the right decision.

Hi John
Good decision I believe.
It is the same advice I was given just over two years ago.
